About Me
Hi! My name is Christine Plaganis. I live in Southern California in a city called Temecula. I live with my husband, Chris, and my Pit Bull, Bella! I LOVE where I live, as I take full advantage of the mountains, beach and desert all within an hour of my home. In my free time you will find me cooking, hiking with Bella or enjoying Mission Bay.
I am so excited for the opportunity of teaching my passion, Nutrition & Health Sciences, in the California Community College system! This has been my dream for over 10 years dating back to when I started my own health science journey in community college. However, I did not know back then that nutrition would become my specialty. In fact, I started my education with a strong focus in medicine and Biomed. It was after years of health and biology courses during my undergraduate experience that I realized I was less interested in treating diseases–I wanted to prevent them!
I currently work in the acute care setting as a clinical dietitian at Temecula Valley Hospital. The realm of clinical dietetics has taught me so much about the importance and role of nutrition. I truly love providing diet education and helping to motivate patients on a daily basis. My goals continue to expand as I aim to reach larger audiences with my ultimate ambition to improve public health within my own community with promotion of nutrition science.
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little about me. Here is a picture of me & Bella at our happy place :)
